June 25, 1958 - Northern Concrete Pipe, Incorporated.

1958 - First Production Order

June 1958 - First sales order for 84"(68" x 106") x 6'-0" HE-IV Elliptical Pipe.


1965 - Lansing Plant

1965 - Northern Concrete Pipe Inc. builds a new production facility in Lansing, MI.


1966 - Precast Box Culvert

1966 - Northern Concrete Pipe Inc. developes and produces the first precast box culverts in North America. These first box culverts installed, known as the 'Mini-bridge', are still in use today throughout Michigan.


2004 - MIOSHA CET Silver Award

July 13, 2004 - Northern Concrete Pipe Inc. of Bay City received the CET Silver Award from the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) for an outstanding safety and health record.

December 9, 2005 - Northern Concrete Pipe Inc. of Charlotte received the CET Silver Award from the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) for an outstanding safety and health record.

2007 - MIOSHA CET Gold Award

July 16, 2007 - The Northern Concrete Pipe Bay City plant has gone more than 1,050 days without a lost time accident. The company's Lansing facility has also qualified for the CET Gold Award. Northern Concrete Pipe is the first high-hazard manufacturing company in Michigan to quality for the CET Gold Award in two locations.

July 18, 2007 - The Northern Concrete Pipe Lansing plant has gone more than 887 days without a lost time accident. The company's Bay City facility has also qualified for the CET Gold Award. Northern Concrete Pipe is the first high-hazard manufacturing company in Michigan to quality for the CET Gold Award in two locations.

2011 - MIOSHA CET Platinum Award

May 25, 2011 - Northern Concrete Pipe Inc. of Bay City received the CET Platinum Award for going more than five years without a lost-time accident in the workplace. Northern Concrete Pipe has over 1.2 million man hours without a lost-time accident on the job, a feat no other heavily hazardous industrial company in the state has accomplished.

2012 - Premarc Corporation

July 2012 - Northern Concrete Pipe, Inc. acquired Premarc’s facilities, equipment, and inventory located in Clarkston and Grand Rapids, MI. The strategic acquisition enables NCP to strengthen its Michigan manufacturing base, enhance its production capacity and capability, and improve its ability to provide solutions to customers’ needs.


2013 - ACPA Richard E. Barnes Lifetime Achievement Award

2014 - Independent Concrete

May 2014 - Northern Concrete Pipe, Inc. acquired Independent’s facilities, equipment, and inventory located in Sylvania, OH. The strategic acquisition enables NCP to strengthen its Ohio manufacturing base, enhance its production capacity and capability, and improve its ability to provide solutions to customers’ needs.


2015 - ACPA Mel C. Marshall Award

Started in 2001, This award is for exemplary service to the concrete pipe industry through work performed for the Manufacturing/Quality Committee in education and quality control.


2015 - ACPA Project Achievement Award

The new precast concrete box culvert/bridge on Michigan’s M-142 over Phillip Drain exemplifies Accelerated Precast Construction (APC) to quickly replace culverts and small bridges in ways emulating ABC (Accelerated Bridge Construction).

2017 - ACPA Project Achievement Award

An aging three-sided cast-in-place (7-foot x 7-foot) box culvert constructed in 1946 under M-43, west of Grand Ledge, MI was compromised by degradational scour, which undermined its foundation and footings. M-43 is a critical roadway owned by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) that links industry, commerce, agriculture, and residents.

2018 - ACPA Project Achievement Award

Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) called for the removal of the bridge over Goodings Creek on Caine Road, Tuscola County near Vassar and replacement with a precast concrete box culvert in April 2017. Northern Concrete Pipe, Inc. (NCPI) was consulted to supply box sections with a 24-foot span with many of the sections tapered on both faces.
